Dated: December 12, 2009. Hello everyone we recently received a letter from
Alisa Winston who is with the "Chesapeake VA Housing Program Coordinator" asking us to inform our civic league about
the upcoming public hearings. Here is the quote from the web page and the link that will take you to the
online survey you can fill out and fax back or mail to there office. Here is the link and a inserted Quote as follows from the Chesapeake Office of Housing
[Quote] 2010 – 2014 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONSOLIDATED PLANNING PROCESS PUBLIC INPUT •Ways to Provide Feedback •Public Input Sessions Schedule The City of Chesapeake is undertaking a Five (5) Year 2010-2014 Consolidated Planning process to determine the City's Housing and Community Planning and Development needs and to determine the best use of resources to address those needs. The planning process will result in the development of an Annual Action Plan which will outline the City's prioritized needs and the use of available resources to address those needs. Anticipated Federal "housing and community development" resources include the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement Funds, Section 108 Loan Guarantee Program Funds and the HOME Investment Partnership Entitlement Funds. CDBG funds must meet national objectives of benefiting low and moderate inform citizens, aiding in the elimination of slum and blight and meeting an urgent need (i.e. national disaster). HOME funds must benefit low and moderate income citizens. The City's overall goal is to provide citizens with decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities. The City is anticipating that these funds will be available from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to implement the 2010-2011 Annual Action Plan for Program Year 36 beginning July 1, 2010 and ending June 30, 2011. Ways to Provide Input/Feedback The most critical component of the consolidated planning process is the feedback you provide us regarding the City's (1) affordable housing needs; (2) homeless/special needs housing needs; and (3) non-housing community development. You can provide your input at one of the public input sessions listed below and/or by completing the attached Needs Assessment Survey. Your completed survey can be mailed or faxed to the Chesapeake Office of Housing (contact info below) OR you can complete the Survey online. The JWCL civic league meeting tonight was to establish a changing of the officers from some of our previously leaders who have worked very hard over the past years. Therefore “Thank you!!” to our prior officers and board members we truly appreciate everything you have done for our civic league. Also please join us in welcoming some new faces that have been entrusted to care for our Civic League. It is up to each of you to give them all of your support over the next year to insure this will be a joyful term.

Dear JolliffWoods Residents please be aware we have recently had some burglaries in the adjacent neighborhoods "Bailey's Creek" and in the hard economic times it is up to usas diligent neighbors to look out for one another. During these times we should take extra care to look around and watch for new or strange cars, people who don't live in the area and even take a extra drive around the block to just make sure things look normal. Burglaries are less likely to happen in a active community. Thanks again, and have a safe and wonderful new year in 2009.
